Hi,

I want to shoot some racing cars this weekend will a shutter speed of 1/60th second be fast enough to freeze the car.

Hi Robert,

Shooting fast moving subjects is a challenge, but also very rewarding. 1/60th of a second is probably a little too slow unless you can "pan" with the car, which would give you a sharp car and a blurred background, which makes a cracking shot. However the technique needs practice, which is why you should give it a go. To be certain of a crisp image i suggest nothing less than 1/250th sec. Try experimenting and you will quickly find a combination which you are happy with.

Let me know how you get on.

David.
